Happy Monday
The month since I returned from Honduras has whirled by so fast. I got in the habit of blogging while I was away, but once I got home, I found myself, once again, with little desire to get writing about the mundane daily routines. I also found myself easily distracted with my so called life. Although my usual day is fairly simple, it does seem to keep me busy. . . dogs, friends, exercise, work. . . sleeping and eating are in there somewhere. . . once in a while a phone call with a friend or my family. . . but, not much else. How does that keep me busy?
A highlight of the past month is the warm weather. We are up to the 30's and 40's now and although the snow is still falling, I know that it will soon be that glorious summer again. The sun is rising at 7am and not going down until after 10pm. It feels so good!
A lowlight of the past month was saying goodbye to a wonderful friend of the past 3 1/2 years, Mike Mraz (if I could post a stinkin' picture I'd show you his sweet face). He has moved on to Anchorage, but will remain a big part of my life. He was monumental in shaping so many of my experiences here in Nome and I truly shudder to think what it would have been like here without him. What a special person he is and how lucky I was to get to know and love him! It is one and the same with him. Truly, to know him is to love him. When he left he gave me his '92 Subaru wagon, also known as Alba. Its in great shape and has had very few problems over the years, besides the fact that it carries endless good kharma from dear Mike. So, I've sold my Jeep and am now saving about $500 a month by having the subaru instead. Thanks so much Mike!
As some of you may have seen, I have not posted pics from Honduras. I'm not sure what the trouble is for me, but I just can't seem to streamline the picture upload process. I'm going to work on starting an online photo album, so I'll keep you posted as to when you can access that.
