5th Avenue Moose
The other day while running errands I got one of those cool, "yeah, I live in Alaska" kind of moments. Driving downtown on 5th Avenue, looking for parking, I saw a beautiful moose taking a little walk right down the sidewalk. She stopped to munch on some trees and I found a parking spot. I went over to her to get a closer look and found myself unable to stop smiling as I watched her chomp away. She was just so cute. I didn't have my camera, but I met a nice man who emailed me a couple of his shots. This moose seemed so peaceful and relaxed, as if a stroll down 5th Avenue was just a part of any other day. Incredible.

Wowee, such a beautiful animal. Just promise to think twice before posing with another moose.

That's amazing! I can't wait to see meese (Hah!) roaming the city streets. That is too cool. Couldn't they be dangerous though as "stick in the mud" mentioned? Be careful! Love you, Romy

You are right, Dillon. And just so you know, I thought twice before posing with this moose. I know that they can be very dangerous animals. With this girl, she just seemed perfectly content eating away that the trees and I, nor the many others catching a glimpse, seemed to be bothering her in the slightest. I always feel sort of bad when I see wild animals who have found their way into the city, but somehow these moose I see everywhere seem okay. I know that doesn't make a bit of sense. Anyway, I just wanted to assure you that I'm not as dumb as I look in the picture. I didn't even want to take that picture for the record, but the guy I was chatting with wanted to. If the moose hadn't looked so darn cute behind me I would have spared you all from the ridiculous pose. Anyway Dillon, I'll do my best not to get myself charged by a moose anytime soon. Thanks for the concern. And where on earth did you find the warning article? And to Romy, don't hold your breath. Its unlikely there will be any moose roaming around in the city during the summer. I guess you'll have to get here for a winter visit too, eh?
