it was 49 degrees today. yay!

perfect saturday

spent saturday morning on the phone with my brother who's been helping me set up my new computer. he got me going with the webcam yesterday so not only did we get to visit, but i got to see his face. so cool. for those of you that have webcams, i'm hooked up now and i can't wait to see you too. then, erik, my "nephew" devin, and I decided we needed to get out of town yesterday. we took a beautiful drive down to seward (about 2 hours away) and enjoyed the gorgeous sunny, blue skies. felt like a summer day with exception of the snow on the ground. we went to the sea life center and were pretty impressed with the amazing creatures we saw. we even got to see a huge cod spawn. we also had a nice hike with the dogs. it was truly beautiful. still snowy, but the slush and mud was certainly evidence that the ground was ready to be unveiled again. erik and devin enjoyed the snowball fight a little more than the actual hike. i however, had a great hike and actually noticed a difference in how mucher stronger i felt (maybe those morning work outs are finally having some effect?). what a great day. today we're back to work at the house. i think we'll try and tackle the upstairs trim. happy sunday.

pretty boy

on a whim, i bought a pretty little beta fish that caught my eye while i was in the pet store today. he's so pretty, in fact, that i named him samantha. pictures to follow.
